About Me

Amberly Steffensen-
Amberly began her dance training in 1984 at North Coast Ballet in San Diego. She studied many styles of dance including Jazz, Flamenco, Contemporary and Modern but her main focus was classical Ballet. She studied under renowned teachers such as David Howard, Gelsey Kirkland, Sonia Arova and Stanley Holden. In 1993 she moved to the North State and was coached privately by Nuria L. Lovett. In 1998 she joined Redding City Ballet. She performed lead roles in numerous ballets including The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Carmen, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Billy the Kid and many other original works. She worked as assistant artist director, principal dancer, choreographer and director of the children’s division until 2011. During this time she attended many summer workshops and teaching courses including American Theater Ballet, City Ballet and San Diego Ballet. She also has taught ballet at Dance Depot and other local dance studios. In 2006 she began teaching dance and choreographing for Redding School of the Arts. She is currently working on earning her CTE Credential in Arts, Media and Entertainment.
