After School Schedule 2024-2025

Mondays 12:55-1:25 Kinderstrings. Open to kindergarten students. A parent must accompany.

Tuesday 2:45-3:45 Bluegrass/Fiddle. Prerequisite 2 years on instrument and a member of jr or 

MS orchestra.

Wednesday 2:45-3:45 Jr Orchestra. This class is for students in 3rd to 5th grade with at least one year experience or the ability to read some notation. 

Thursday 2:25-3:30 Strings 2. Grades 1st-3rd. Students have completed one year of strings. 

Friday 2:25-3:15 Beginning Violin. Grades 1-3rd. No experience required.

RSA has instruments to loan. The kids enjoy having a snack! A monthly donation of snacks is highly appreciated. Classes are in rm 110. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

About me:

My absolute passion is teaching music! To see the joy on the faces creating music is wonderful. To watch the kids grow friendships that last a lifetime through music. To watch the students build memories and grow through music education and take it with them through high school and the rest of their lives is my goal. I’ve been teaching for over 40 years. I have training in the Suzuki method. I teach a combination of Suzuki, traditional and some fiddling to keep it lively and fun. I have a BA from California State University, Chico and music credential from Simpson University. I have taught in the Enterprise School District, the Redding School District and the College of the Redwoods. 

My professional experience:

A former member of the Reno Philharmonic, Harrah’s show orchestras in Reno and Lake Tahoe, North State Symphony and the Chico Symphony. 

I won the title of California State Fiddle Champion (Adult division) twice.
