RSA Elective Information
The elective program is an enrichment opportunity for children who
are successful in the regular academic program, including home
study/independent study students. Its purpose is to allow students to
experience and explore different aspects of Visual & Performing Arts
(VAPA) and/or focus on a particular interest. The kindergarten through third grade participate in an elective wheel of dance, art and tumbling/ body movement. The fourth through eighth grade students participate in student selective elective classes during the school year. These classes include drama, orchestra, band, violin, choir, dance (ballet, tap, jazz, swing, etc) two and three dimensional art, culinary, robotics, and others.
Course descriptions are included to help with your child’s selection.
Please keep in mind that many elective programs require a monetary
commitment by parents or specific dance clothing and shoes.
Classes are offered on the basis of the enrollment of 15 or more
students.
