Philosophy of RSA Early College High School

The mission of the RSA High School (Early College model) is to provide interdisciplinary studies that develop awareness of their skills, interest, and talents in the world; ways to contribute to the community, and to explore vocational or career interests to streamline entrance and success in post high school education during their high school years. This high school will serve 300 students with approximately 75 students per grade.

The curriculum of the RSA High School shall consist of the basic concepts, content goals, and skills instruction reflected in the California State Standards in language arts, science, math, social science, world language, visual and performing arts, technology and physical education leading to a high school diploma. The context in which these skills shall be developed will be cultivated through an array of curriculum and instructional delivery methods, depending on the chosen track of vocation or college program in which the student is enrolled. Students will be approached and challenged as active learners; the curriculum will encourage discovery and will address a variety of skill levels.

RSA High School students will take advantage of community college courses offered at the college for CTE completion or transferable courses to UC’s or CSU’s as part of their personalized graduation plan.  RSA High School will be dedicated to supporting and encouraging college and career readiness for all high school students. The school will also offer the option of local university courses. These courses will be established as on-campus or remote courses for college credit and will be offered as a common list of language arts, science, math, social science, technology and physical education courses to choose from.
